• Over the years, we have stocked a variety of fly-tying kits from numerous manufacturers.
• We have never been satisfied with those kits. Usually, the kits include a poorly made vise and/or tools and supply the beginning tier with a very small amount of a whole bunch of random materials that most tiers will never use.
• It is our thought that beginning tying kits should include high quality equipment and materials yet kept very simple.
• In our experience, we have found it to be most beneficial that a freshwater tier start out tying "Wooly Buggers".
• A beginning saltwater tier should start out tying "Clouser Minnows".
• With that in mind, we have put together both freshwater and saltwater introductory tying kits.
• These kits include Thompson brand c-clamp vises, a very nice and complete tool kit, premium materials and quality Mustad brand hooks.
• With the freshwater kits, tiers will be equipped to tie "Wooly Buggers" in both Olive and in Black.
• With the saltwater kit, tiers will be equipped to tie "Clouser Minnows" in Chartreuse/White.
• Although we do not offer a full range of tying materials in stock, we are proud to offer these premium introductory kits to start tiers out on the right track.
• At Uptown Angler, we simply don't believe in selling inferior equipment that leaves the angler/tier feeling the need to upgrade soon after the initial investment.
